California White Sage (Salvia Apiana):
An evergreen perennial shrub native to the southwestern United States. When burned, drives out negative energy, and cleanses and purifies ones environment. This is the most commonly used for smudging.
Cedar Smudge Stick (Cedrus)
A coniferous tree native to areas of high elevation. Cedar wands are used in ceremonies for protection, purification, wealth, and healing. Cedar is known to Native tribes as the “Mother” and “Giver of life” and can also be thrown into a fireplace simply for the aroma as well.
